THE SETTING

CasaVostra sits in the countryside of Ostra Vetere, in Le Marche, the central Italian region that faces the Adriatic Sea with the Apennines rising behind it.

Le Marche is still unknown to many travellers, which is part of its charm. The region moves between hilltop towns, wheat fields, sunflower fields, olive groves, vineyards, sandy beaches, Renaissance cities and mountain roads. It has the ingredients people often travel to Italy for, but with a softer rhythm and far less noise around it.

CasaVostra is small: five independent suites in a stone country house, plus a dependence with a large living space and a pergola facing the hills. Around it are old oaks, olive trees, a flowered garden, wheat, sunflowers, and the kind of view that makes plans feel less urgent.

The name is well chosen. CasaVostra means “your house,” and the place does have something of that feeling: personal, designed, quiet, slightly hidden, and looked after by someone with a clear eye.

THE ROOMS

There are five suites, simply named Suite 01 to Suite 05. Each one has its own colours, furniture and mood, with design pieces, vintage objects, exposed beams, oak floors, soft bedding and bathrooms that feel more considered than expected in a small country stay.

The ground-floor suites open directly to the garden. They are the easiest choice for guests who like stepping outside with a book, coffee, or wet hair after the pool. Suite 01 is softer, with white, cream, taupe and small gold and bronze touches. Suite 02 is deeper in tone, with wood, black, a bottle-green velvet sofa and travertine in the bathroom. Suite 03 is sharper, with black-and-white details, silver accents and floral paintings.

Upstairs, Suite 04 and Suite 05 feel brighter and more open to the landscape. Both have large windows, exposed beams, living corners and broad views across the hills. Suite 04 brings in stronger red tones and a large shower. Suite 05 is warmer, with beige, rope and brown shades, a leather sofa and a soft-lined bathtub.

The details are part of the pleasure here: Maison Margiela bathrobes, Italian bedding, goose-down comforters, good mattresses, vintage pieces, design furniture, and enough personality to make each room feel chosen rather than assembled.

THE FOOD

Breakfast is served under the pergola when the weather allows, with the hills in front. The table keeps close to the area: Italian coffee, teas, fresh juice, fruit, local cheeses, yoghurt, cured meats from nearby producers, organic regional jams, homemade cakes and biscuits.

CasaVostra also offers a home restaurant service by reservation. It can be arranged for brunch, lunch or dinner. For private moments or small groups, a chef@home service can be organised. Cooking classes are also available for guests who want to learn simple Italian recipes and local kitchen habits.

The surrounding area is good for food and wine too. Verdicchio, Lacrima di Morro d’Alba, olive oil, handmade pasta, hill-town trattorie and fish on the Adriatic coast all sit within the same landscape.

THE STAY

CasaVostra is made for slow days in the hills.

The garden is surrounded by old oaks and olive trees, with flowers, shade, sunbeds and open views. The saltwater pool looks across wheat and sunflower fields, almost like a balcony over the countryside.

There is a shared lounge, terrace, garden corners and the dependence, which can be used for breakfasts, lunches, dinners or small private moments. The mood is quiet, but not empty. Alessio enjoys helping guests make the most of the area: beaches, restaurants, villages, wine stops, walks, day trips.

For special occasions, the pool can be booked privately in the evening, with candles, music, chocolate, fruit and bubbles. Massages can be arranged in the suite or under the gazebo in the garden. Yoga and meditation weekends are also organised during the year, usually for couples or small groups.

AROUND CASAVOSTRA

Ostra Vetere is a small hill town in the province of Ancona, surrounded by countryside. Nearby Corinaldo is one of the area’s prettiest walled towns, with brick gates, stairways, old lanes and views across the hills.

The Adriatic is close. Senigallia is the easiest beach day, known for its long sandy shore and “velvet beach.” CasaVostra also provides guests with sunbeds and an umbrella at a private beach there. The hills around the house are good for small drives: Ostra, Corinaldo, Morro d’Alba, Jesi, Mondavio, Arcevia and small wineries where Verdicchio or Lacrima can be tasted properly.

For a bigger day out, Urbino is one of Italy’s great Renaissance towns. Ancona and the Conero Riviera bring a different version of the region: cliffs, coves, blue water, seaside towns and the Adriatic at its most scenic. The Frasassi Caves are also within reach for something completely different — one of the most impressive underground cave systems in Italy.

THE OWNERS

CasaVostra is hosted by Alessio. The house reflects a very personal eye. The suites mix design furniture, vintage pieces, local references, art, fabric, colour and small objects that have been collected over time.

Alessio knows how to make the stay easier without turning it into a programme. Restaurant bookings, beach suggestions, village tips, wine stops, routes through the hills — the useful kind of hosting. That is probably the best way to understand CasaVostra. It is not just a small country resort with nice rooms and a pool. It feels like Alessio’s place, opened carefully to people who want Le Marche at the right pace.

Marche Airport near Ancona is around 40–45 km away. Senigallia and the Adriatic coast are a short drive away (about 25 min).
