Langstrein Hof is a design-led farm stay in Latsch, South Tyrol, set between organic apple orchards with the mountains of the Vinschgau Valley rising all around you. It’s deliberately “not hotel”: clean architecture, lots of light, and the kind of calm that comes from being surrounded by trees and open sky—yet you’re perfectly placed for days out, from hikes on the Sonnenberg to trips toward Merano or Lake Resia.
Accommodation comes as 3 studio-style holiday apartments—minimal, warm, and built to feel good to live in. Each studio has a fully equipped kitchen and a balcony looking over orchards toward the South Tyrolean mountains. The design is intentionally pared back (natural wood, open space, big windows), with comfort baked in—down to the thick, insulating walls that keep the indoor climate pleasant year-round. The property is a certified organic apple farm growing seven varieties of apples, and you’ll find their own organic products as part of the on-site “honesty” style lounge area.
Life here revolves around a simple, outdoor rhythm. In the garden, a natural swimming pond offers refreshing dips on warm days, and when the temperature drops, a designer sauna with views turns the evening into a ritual. There’s also a sunbathing lawn with loungers, a small library corner, and a video-monitored, lockable bike room with tools.Â
Langstrein Hof is a solid base for an active stay in South Tyrol. You can hike on the Sonnenberg, cycle along the Adige river, or set out for bigger day trips—Merano for its gardens and cafés, or Lake Resia for that wide, alpine “north” feeling. Back at the farm, you can also join a guided tour to understand how the orchard works—simple, local, and very Vinschgau.
The farm has been in the family for three generations, and today it’s run by Stefanie and Christoph, who took over recently and are bringing fresh energy and ideas while keeping the land organic and respectful. The result is a small, personal place where design and agriculture sit naturally together—quiet, thoughtful, and rooted in the rhythm of the orchards.
