Jonojé is a design-led boutique guesthouse in Brugge, Belgium, created inside a former brush/broom factory that Studio LOHO has transformed into a calm, tactile world of “quiet luxury”. You’re close enough to reach the historic centre quickly by bike, but far enough to come home to genuine silence. What makes Jonojé different is that it’s not just a place to sleep: it doubles as part showroom, part gallery, part living space for Studio LOHO, so your stay feels like stepping inside the studio’s universe rather than a standard boutique hotel.
There are six spacious suites, each around 75 m², designed as self-contained retreats with a lounge and dining corner. The materials are the story here: organically finished plaster walls, sculptural ceramics, clay washbasins, and the kind of bathrooms people remember (Studio LOHO’s signature claywork shows up in the bathing experience). Every suite also includes a kitchenette with practical essentials like a fridge and coffee/tea setup, which makes the whole stay feel more independent and “liveable” than a classic hotel room.
Breakfast is designed to keep that private, unhurried feeling: it’s served in your suite, not in a public breakfast room. The selection is intentionally simple and well chosen, with homemade sourdough and whipped butter, plus local artisan cheeses, Belgian chocolate spread, and jams—simple, high-quality, and very Brugge.
Jonojé is built around an “arrive at your own pace” way of staying: you get a digital guide before arrival and can reach the team via a connected webchat. There’s also a small set of Petit Porteur bicycles available to rent for exploring Brugge gently, and on-site parking can be reserved in advance (with EV charging stations available). This is a perfect base for a slow Brugge break: mornings along the canals, museums and galleries in the afternoon, and long dinners without thinking about transport back “out of town.” With a bike, the city opens up even more—quiet streets, green corners, and easy loops that make Bruges feel local rather than checklist-driven.
Jonojé is the new hospitality project of Jo Hoeven, founder of Studio LOHO. Together with Esther and the LOHO team, he’s turned this old factory into a deeply personal place—one where craftsmanship, art and everyday comfort come together naturally, without the stiffness that sometimes comes with “design hotels”.
