Château du Gué aux Biches is a Belle Époque castle situated on a hill just outside Bagnoles-de-l’Orne in Normandy, France. Set within a 13-hectare private natural park and surrounded by the Andaines Forest, the Château offers a retreat in the heart of the Normandy-Maine Regional Nature Park. Its proximity to the spa town of Bagnoles-de-l’Orne, renowned for its thermal baths and wellness facilities, adds to its appeal. 

The Château features three elegantly restored rooms and two spacious suites, each uniquely designed to blend historical charm with modern comfort. The guest rooms—Marie Laurencin, Paul Féval, and Sophie Herminde de Lepinay—are furnished with double beds that can be split into twin beds and offer private bathrooms with Molton Brown toiletries, bathrobes, and slippers. The suites—Albert Christophle and Alexandre Dumas—boast private balconies with garden views, providing an elevated experience for guests. 

Each morning, guests enjoy a breakfast featuring fresh croissants, baguettes, local cheeses, homemade jams, eggs, yogurt, and honey harvested from the Château’s beehives. Breakfast is served in the elegant dining room or on the veranda in the warm season. For other meals, the nearby town of Bagnoles-de-l’Orne offers a variety of dining options, including Michelin-starred restaurants.

Guests can explore the expansive 13-hectare park, and take leisurely walks through the surrounding Andaines Forest. Bicycles are available to explore the scenic surroundings. Additionally, the nearby Andaines Golf Course offers a 9-hole course for golf enthusiasts. The spa town of Bagnoles-de-l’Orne, located just 1.5 kilometers away, is known for its thermal baths and wellness centers. Guests can also visit the local casino, explore various hiking and cycling trails, or enjoy water activities at nearby lakes.

Château du Gué aux Biches is owned by Klaus and Søren, who purchased the property in 2017. After extensive renovations to restore the Château to its former glory, they moved permanently to France in August 2020 to pursue their dream of creating a unique and welcoming home. Their dedication to preserving the Château’s history while providing modern comforts ensures guests experience the charm and elegance of the Belle Époque era.
